The DMV Cruiser – 2022 RAM ProMaster was perfect for my needs. Well equipped, super comfortable, and a lot easier to drive than larger vehicles I have rented in the past. Clear and stress-free.

The camper is very easy to operate, and the all-electric system (without LPG) is super handy. Thanks to the induction hob a delicious coffee in the morning in no time. And cooking food was also a pleasure.

Justin gave us all the explanations in a clear and stress-free way. And he was always available for questions, and even gave suggestions for trips for our vacation.

Much easier than with public transport.

We rented the DMV Cruiser from Vander Outdoors for 10 days. We extensively explored the beautiful Shenandoah National Park, and its beautiful hikes. Also the DC region and the banks of the Potomac River (with the many Bald Eagles).

The DMV Cruiser is a very nice campervan. Two adults, and our teenage son had more than enough space. The campervan is compact enough to park in any parking spot without worries, even just to explore Washington DC at your own pace. Much easier than with public transport.

Highly recommend as a convenient alternative to tent camping.

We had a great time renting the Vanpire Weekend van from Vander Outdoors for a week in October. We took it from Washington DC to West Virginia for the week to go hiking, stargazing, and enjoy living in a van for a week. Justin from Vander Outdoors was super responsive anytime we had a question, gave a thorough walkthrough when we first got the van keys, and was professional the whole time. The van itself was relatively small compared to other RVs but fit my 6’3″ husband and myself (5’5″) easily with enough food and gear for the week. Driving it was similar to driving a mini van. Highly recommend as a convenient alternative to tent camping.

We (2 adults + medium sized dog) rented a Vander Cascade campervan for an incredible 2 week roundtrip from DC to OKC in summer 2023. Justin provided so many great tips and answered all of our questions thoroughly, including good ideas for safe travel with our dog. The Cascade van was thoughtfully outfitted, and we were glad we took advantage of some additional add-ons given the length of our trip (cargo box, awning, and camping shower). This was our first experience with a camper van, and we look forward to future trips with Vander!

The fold down bed was plenty comfortable.

Reasonable price for a really well equipped little van. We’re both pretty large people and slept comfortably with a medium sized dog. The smaller van drove great and was much more comfortable to drive than one of the really large camper vans. The layout of the van was awesome and really maximized the available space. The fold down bed was plenty comfortable. The van was nice and super clean when we got it and Justin did a great job of walking us through all the features. I would absolutely rent a van from them again for another weekend trip.

We wanted to rent a van like this for a 3 day weekend + wedding, to both (a) live van life, and (b) save money on a car rental & hotel. This is definitely a fun, exciting, economical way to travel, especially due to the van being very gas efficient.

He was early to our meeting point, gave us a thorough yet efficient overview of the van and all the useful amenities (cookware, stove, sink, excellent fridge/freezer, great magnetic night shades, lights & night lights, and more).

He let us know that he was “always available” during our trip, and although we never needed help, we did text updates and he was very helpful & quick to respond.

Vander had the right van for our weeklong adventure.

Perfection. Vander had the right van for our weeklong adventure. We rented the Caravan to explore southern VA and southern WV. It handled the mountains with ease and gave us a rest bit from a rainy afternoon. The only thing it’s left me wanting was to try their Sprinter van for our next adventure. Having a stove and fridge was clutch and made our trip so much easier.

We had a great experience renting through Vander. Van (2019 Dodge Grand Caravan) was as expected and just right for our camping getaway weekend. It was clean and well-maintained. We had plenty of storage space for all our gear, especially with the luggage rack add-on and roof nest tent. Having a stove and fridge was clutch and made our trip so much easier. The van was really easy to drive as well. 

We took the “Vanpire” out west on our 2 week honeymoon road trip. The van is compact and cozy which made it perfect for going into cities and visiting national parks. We loved being able to stay at tent sites (without having to set up a tent) without hookups giving us ultimate flexibility. The van was really easy to drive as well. Justin was a pleasure to work with and made sure we were well set up and informed for our trip and also made sure our honeymoon was special. Would definitely rent again for a future trip.

My fiancé, My dog and I had a fantastic 4th of July weekend because of Vander, The rental process was super smooth and having the ability to move our camp around as much or as little as we wanted was an experience ill never forget. Vander experience was excellent. Pick-up was convenient. Run through on systems was thorough and efficiently provided in an appropriate time frame. Systems worked as expected. My partner and I rented a van from Justin, and it was a fantastic experience. We went on a 10 day long road trip across 13 states and approximately 2000 miles. The whole process is designed with the goal of getting into the van and getting on the road as quickly as possible given the incredible amount of thought put into the van and the rental process. Justin met us at the Metro station, walked us through every single aspect of the van, explained how everything worked, and common solutions to any issues we might face. He also gave us a number of tips based on the places we were going. Given the thought put into the van, we were able to handle some torrential downpours in the Maine wilderness while staying dry and staying fed.

A great experience and something we will do again.

We reserved a Vander Nomad (“Vanpire!”) for five days and four nights for a trip around Virginia, from Shenandoah and Blue Ridge to the Northern Neck. There was great communication with Justin prior to the rental and answered all of our pre-trip questions.We met Justin at the appointed time and he gave us a thorough walk-through of the vehicle and equipment. It was all very simple and direct and if ever confused there are videos you can access. Our trip was fantastic and the van was easy to drive, well-stocked with equipment needed and the platform bed was comfortable, including an internal fan and external air exchange for fresh air. Justin provided some nice amenities, such as olive oil, kitchen equipment, utensils, etc. Altogether it was a great experience and something we will do again.

If you need a rental van this is DEFINITELY the place to go through!! Justin was SO informative and helpful throughout the whole process, and was extremely flexible with our drop off time at the end since we had a flight to catch and we were cutting it super close. My bestfriend and I rented the Appalachia for a music festival and it was nothing short of perfect. There was PLENTY of space for the 2 of us, the stove and toilet were the cherry on top, plus it had heat to keep us warm at night. Will absolutely be using vander again next time we come back thanks so much for everything!

I had such a fantastic experience renting a sleeper van from this company! The communication was absolutely stellar — they were so patient, accommodating, and knowledgeable every step of the way. As a first-time sleeper van renter, I felt completely at ease thanks to their clear guidance and thorough walk-through of every amenity. They even worked around our hectic schedule to make sure we had the best experience possible.

Vander was an excellent choice for my family's first RV camping experience. The DMV Cruiser had everything we needed for our trip, was clean and ready to go when we picked it up, and Justin made picking up and returning the van smooth and easy. Would highly recommend Vander to anyone looking for a camper van rental and I fully intend to use them again for our next camping road trip.

We had a great time taking the van camping at the beach! It came with everything so we had to pack much less than tent camping. All went well with pickup and drop off.

We rented with Vander Outdoors for a trip to Shenandoah National Park and it was great! The features were handy (water access, red lighting, fans, bedding, etc.), clean, and easy to use. Justin did a great job of explaining everything in the car prior to handing it off to us. He was super communicative as well and met at us at a convenient location for pick up/drop off. Would definitely rent from this company again!
